The Space
Every detail of Stonewood has been meticulously considered for your comfort. From bespoke vintage pieces to soft comfortable furnishings, you’ll enjoy a touch of the old world in a contemporary setting. In summer throw open the French doors and let the sun stream in or stay cosy and warm on cooler days in a space that exudes warmth.
The comfort factor is high with natural and luxurious textures from Egyptian towels to pure linens and pillow top mattresses. Every corner of the house is furnished with quality pieces, each hand-picked to create cosy comfort zones.

Built by a local master craftsman and stonemason using beautiful natural materials including stone sourced from nearby Castlemaine. These features add to the ambiance, creating a place that is peaceful and comfortable perfect for a couples retreat or weekend away with friends. The property sleeps 4 with 2 queen bedrooms and open living spaces including a reading nook. Enjoy alfresco dining in the private courtyard or get creative with local produce in the modern kitchen. Piper Street known for its fine foods, vintage wares and crafts and boutiques is a short stroll away or you can wander further afield and explore the local area.

A little history
Our family has strong generational ties to Kyneton and surrounding areas. Pa Wells is the Great Grandfather to Ben, husband of Roxanne who is the host of Stonewood. We wanted to incorporate the legacy of Pa Wells into our property as he was the first pharmacist in Kyneton establishing H.J. Wells Pharmacy. Whilst the Pharmacy name is no longer, it’s now Terry White Chemist, the story of Pa Wells makes up the fabric of the Kyneton community. Their beautiful family home ‘Wyoming’ still stands today, opposite the Kyneton Botanical Gardens, heritage listed it continues to be enjoyed by locals and visitors. These family connections inspired us to create a special sanctuary that represents wellness and care, where others can enjoy the healing qualities and the wonderful surrounds that Stonewood provides.
Your host
Aside from the family connections to Kyneton, host Roxanne spent many years working in the hospitality and beauty and wellness industry. She has managed world famous day spas so knows what it takes to make guests feel welcome relaxed and rejuvenated.
